Lila Mondal

I am Lila Mondal and I live and work in Vidyadharpur, specifically in the Madsar area of Sonarpur. This is out in the South 24 Parganas, so it’s much greener and quieter than being in the middle of Kolkata. My address is quite a mouthful, but locals know where to find the house near the post office. I’ve been here all my life and decided to set up my work right from home. It’s a very basic setup. I use one of the front rooms as my office. There’s a wooden table and a couple of benches for people to sit on. Since I’m in a more rural area, my work often follows the seasons. When it rains heavily, the roads get a bit muddy, but life goes on. People stop by at all hours, sometimes just to ask for advice or a bit of help with their own papers. I don’t have a big sign or any internet ads. Word of mouth is how most people hear about me around here. It’s a slow pace of life, but it suits me. I can watch the birds in the yard while I work. It’s not a corporate job by any means. It’s just a woman in her village doing what she can to earn a living and help her neighbors. The 743369 area is my home, and I’m glad I can stay here and work. I try to get most of my tasks done before the sun sets.
