Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Ecc Division, Edrc-Kolkata

We are based in the Arjunpur area, specifically at Nb/12 in the northern part of Kolkata. Our office is part of the EDRC, which means we spend a lot of time on the design and research side of things for the ECC division. It’s a busy neighborhood and finding our building among the narrow lanes can be a bit of a trick if you’re new here. We have a lot of workstations set up for the technical work we do. It’s not the kind of place where we have fancy meetings; mostly it’s just people sitting at desks, looking at drawings and working on computers. The vibe here is pretty casual but also very busy. We’ve been in this part of Kolkata for a good while, and we’ve gotten used to the noise and the rhythm of Arjunpur North. There’s always a lot of back and forth between us and the actual construction sites. We try to keep things simple and just focus on getting the blueprints and plans right. It’s a lot of detail-oriented work, and sometimes the days go by without us even noticing the time. We aren’t really into the polished corporate style. We just want to make sure the engineering side of the business is handled correctly from our end. It’s a lot of hard work, but we have a good group of people here who know what they’re doing.
