Lakshmi Engineering

You’ll find Lakshmi Engineering at 13/3, R. Road in Belgachia. We’re in a narrow part of the street where there’s always something happening. Our workshop is filled with lathes and various tools that have seen better days but still work perfectly fine. We do general engineering work, mostly taking on small parts and repairs that the bigger shops don't want to bother with. It’s noisy and there’s always the smell of cutting oil in the air. I grew up around these machines, so the sound of metal being turned is just background noise to me now. We don't have a big sign or a fancy entrance. People usually just walk in through the open shutter and ask if we can fix something for them. We take a look, tell them if it’s possible, and give them a price. There’s no corporate talk here, just plain conversation about measurements and materials. We have a small bench in the corner where we drink our tea and look over the drawings. Sometimes we stay late when a job is urgent, working under the dim shop lights. It’s a humble way to earn a living, but we just try to get the dimensions right so the parts actually fit. Belgachia is a busy place, and we’re just one of the many small shops trying to keep things moving.
