Our engineering firm is located at 5B Dover Lane, right in the Goriahat neighborhood. It is an old part of South Kolkata with narrow streets and plenty of character. We work out of a relatively small space that is mostly taken up by drawing boards and computers. At Krishna Multistructure Engineering, we spend our days looking at structural designs and trying to figure out the best way to build things. It is not the kind of office where you will find marble floors or fancy art. It is a working office where there is always a bit of a mess from all the blueprints and files lying around. We often have to go out to various construction sites to see how the plans are being put into practice. The weather can make that part of the job difficult, but it is necessary to make sure everything is being done right. We don't have a big team, just a few engineers and some support staff. We enjoy being in Dover Lane because it is close to everything we need, even if parking is a nightmare. Most of our projects come to us because people in the industry know us. We don't do much self-promotion. We just focus on the calculations and the technical side of the buildings. It is a lot of responsibility, but we just take it one project at a time and do the work.
