Our place is on the first floor of P-8, Kalakar Street. If you know Kalakar Street at all, you know it is one of the busiest and most crowded spots you can find. There is always someone moving a bale of cloth or a box of something on their head. Konica Traders Pvt. Ltd. fits right into that environment. We deal in various trading goods and materials. The office is usually full of physical samples and big ledger books. It can get a bit hot and sticky in the afternoons, even with the ceiling fans going as fast as they can. We have a small group of people working here in the office. Some of the guys have been here for over twenty years now. We do not really have a strict hierarchy. Everyone just chips in with whatever needs doing at the moment. If the phone starts ringing, whoever is closest to it picks it up. We are not big on fancy meetings or long presentations. We just talk about the current orders and who needs what by next Tuesday. It is a very hands-on way of doing business. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep and narrow. We are used to them by now. We deal with a lot of local merchants and some who come in from out of town. It is a lot of back and forth on the daily prices. We try to be fair and just get the job done. It is not a very fancy life, but it works.
