Kitchen Grace

Kitchen Grace is located on the ground floor at 7B, right on Elgin Road, which most people also know as Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani. Being next to the Crossword bookstore means we get a lot of people walking by who are just out for a stroll or looking for something to read. It is a pretty lively spot in Kolkata, and there is always something interesting happening on the sidewalk. Our shop is easy to find since we are right there on the ground floor, though it can get a bit cramped when we have a new shipment coming in. We spend a lot of time arranging the shelves and making sure people can actually walk through the aisles without bumping into things. The light comes in through the front windows in the morning, which is nice, but it also shows all the dust on the glass that we have to clean off. We aren't trying to be the fanciest store on Elgin Road, just a place where you can find what you need. Sometimes the traffic outside gets so loud you have to shout a bit to be heard over the horns. The staff here has been together for a while, so we all know where everything is hidden in the back storage room. We just open up, do our work, and talk to the people who come in. It’s a simple way to spend the day in a very busy part of the city and we appreciate the regulars who stop by.
