We are located on the first floor at 40 Netaji Subhas Road. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know how crowded and narrow the streets are. It’s a constant sea of people and handcarts moving back and forth. Our space is filled with boxes of tools and different kinds of equipment stacked up to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but we know exactly where everything is kept. The building is quite old and the stairs are a bit steep, but it’s been our home for a long time. We spend most of the day answering questions about different tools and checking the stock. It gets very humid here in the summer, and we have the old ceiling fans spinning as fast as they can. We aren't a big fancy showroom. It’s more of a place where people come when they need something specific for their workshop or site. We’ve known some of our regular buyers for twenty years or more. Sometimes we share a bit of news over a cup of tea while we wait for a delivery to arrive. It’s a bit chaotic with all the noise from the street outside, but we like the energy of it. We just focus on getting the right tools into the hands of the people who need them. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night.
