Our office is located at 32, Chowringhee Road, right inside the Om Tower. We are up on the 7th Floor, specifically in Flat 701-702. Being in this part of Kolkata means there is always something going on outside. The traffic on Chowringhee Road is legendary, and sometimes you can hear the faint sound of horns even all the way up on the seventh floor. Francis Klein Co. Pvt. Ltd. has been around for a long time, and these rooms have seen a lot of people come and go over the years. It’s a bit of an older building, so the lift can be a bit slow during the morning rush. Inside the space, it’s mostly just desks piled high with papers and files. We don’t have any modern open-plan layout or fancy coffee machines. It’s a traditional office where we get our work done. The view from the window is mostly of the other city buildings and the street below. We spend most of our time on the phone or working through documents. It’s a bit cramped with all the storage cabinets, but we make it work. Most of the staff have been here for decades and they know every corner of these rooms. It isn’t a flashy corporate headquarters, just a place where we handle our business every day. We usually grab tea from the guy downstairs and just keep at it until the day is over. It’s simple, but it’s our routine.
