H D Hardware Stores

H D Hardware Stores is down at 40/2 Strand Road in the B B D Bag area. It’s a busy part of the city, and our shop is right in the thick of it. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The building is one of those old ones, with high ceilings and a bit of a damp smell when it rains. We have shelves packed with all sorts of hardware. It’s not very organized to an outsider, but we know where everything is. Most days it’s just us behind the counter. We deal with contractors, locals, and anyone else who needs a specific bolt or tool. Strand Road is always noisy with traffic, and that sound is part of our daily life. We don't have a website or a social media page. We just open the shutters in the morning and close them at night. If someone needs something, they come in and ask. We don’t use a computer for the inventory; it’s all in our heads or in the ledger books. It’s a bit dusty in here, and the lighting could be better, but it’s a hardware store, not a boutique. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go in B B D Bag over the years, but we’re still here. We just keep doing what we know. It’s not a glamorous life, but it is ours and we like it.
