Jodhpur Park is a nice part of Kolkata to work in, and our office at 75 B Jodhpur reflects that slightly calmer atmosphere. It’s a bit different from the hectic downtown areas, though we still have plenty of work to keep us occupied from morning till evening. As chartered accountants, our days are filled with the usual mix of audits, tax filings, and financial planning. The office has a very lived-in feel to it. We have old wooden desks that have been around for years and bookshelves that are sagging under the weight of heavy reference books. It’s a comfortable place for us, even if it looks a bit dated to some. We don't use a lot of fancy software for everything; a lot of the initial thinking still happens with a pencil and a piece of paper. Clients come in, sit down on the plastic chairs, and we talk through their problems. There’s a ceiling fan that clicks a bit, but we’ve gotten used to the sound. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so it feels more personal here than in a big commercial building. We take our time with the work to make sure we don’t miss anything important. It’s a steady pace of life in the 700 068 area. We’re just here doing our job, keeping the books straight for the people who come to see us.
