K D Garments Pvt. Ltd. is based at 255 Rabindra Sarani, right in the Bajoria Katra Building. We are up on the second floor in Flat number 6. It is a busy part of Kolkata and there is always something going on outside our windows. The building is one of those old ones with a lot of character and plenty of stairs to climb. We have been working out of this space for quite a few years now. The rooms are filled with the sound of sewing machines and people talking. We do not have a fancy office with leather chairs. It is more of a practical workshop where we get the actual work done. The floor is often covered in loose threads and bits of fabric. We make sure to clean it up every evening before we lock up. Rabindra Sarani is a very crowded street, so getting supplies in can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We have to time our deliveries for when the traffic is a bit lighter. Our staff is local and they know the area well. We do not spend money on big advertisements or anything like that. People usually find us because they know the Bajoria Katra Building. We focus on our daily tasks and making sure the garments are packed properly. It is a simple operation and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do what we have to do to keep the business running smoothly.
