John Rich Fashion Fabrics Private Limited is tucked away at No. 3 Babulal Lane. We are located on the first floor, so you just have to walk up one flight of stairs to find us. The lane itself is one of those narrow ones where everyone seems to know each other. Inside our space, you will find rolls and rolls of different fabrics leaning against the walls and stacked on sturdy wooden shelves. It’s a lot of material to keep track of, but we’ve got a pretty good handle on where everything is located. The air usually smells a bit like new cotton and dye. We have a couple of large cutting tables where we measure out what people need. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or soft music. We just have a few ceiling fans spinning away to keep the air from getting too still. Our days are mostly spent talking to tailors and shop owners who come in to pick out fabrics for their own projects. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the weaves and making sure there aren't any snags in the cloth. It’s repetitive work, but we find it satisfying. We’ve been at this location for a while now, and Babulal Lane feels like the right place for us. We don’t do anything flashy; we just provide the fabrics and let the materials speak for themselves. It’s a busy little spot, and that’s how we like it.
