We are over at 3/2/L, D Gupta Lane. It’s a busy spot in Kolkata, especially during the mornings when everyone is heading to work. Our office is basically a few rooms filled with desks and a lot of paper folders. We spend most of our time talking to people who walk in looking for a change in their career. It’s not a fancy place, just a regular office where the fans hum all day long. Sometimes the internet acts up, but we get through the pile of resumes anyway. Most days are just about matching a name to a requirement and making some phone calls. We’ve been here for a while now, so the neighbors know us. There is a tea stall right around the corner where we usually take our breaks. It gets quite loud outside with the traffic, but inside we just focus on the computer screens. We handle a lot of different requests every week. Some people come in quite nervous, and we just try to get the details right for them. It is honest work, mostly just keeping track of who is hiring and who needs a spot. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. It’s just us and the files. People seem to find us okay though, even if the lane is a bit tucked away. We stay busy until the evening rolls around and then we head home like everyone else.
