Jindal Flora

Jindal Flora is where we handle all things related to flowers and plants. It’s the kind of place where the day starts very early, often before the sun is even up, because that’s when the fresh stock arrives. We spend the first few hours of the morning trimming stems and making sure everything is sitting in clean water. It’s a wet and cold job sometimes, especially in the winter, but the smell of the shop makes up for it. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that; we just want the flowers to look good when they leave the shop. Customers come in looking for something for a birthday or maybe a sorry gift, and we just help them pick out what looks freshest that day. The floor is usually covered in leaves and bits of ribbon by noon, and we’re constantly sweeping it up just for it to get messy again. It’s a busy, colorful mess most of the time. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. It’s just about knowing which flowers last longer and how to put them together so they don't fall apart. Sometimes we get big orders for events which means we’re working late into the night, but we don't mind the extra work. It’s just us doing our thing with the plants and hoping they brighten someone’s day.
