Our office is right on R G Kar Road in the Shyambazar area, which as everyone knows, is always crowded and full of life. It can be a bit of a challenge getting through the traffic sometimes, but once you’re inside 2/A, things get a little quieter. We do all the regular CA work you’d expect from a firm in north Kolkata. There are shelves full of blue and black folders because there’s always something new to document or audit. Our desks stay pretty messy most of the week with all the printouts and calculators lying around. We don’t have any big corporate signs or anything like that. It’s just a practical workspace where we sit and get the job done. The neighborhood is great for food, so lunch breaks are usually the highlight of our afternoon. Sometimes clients drop by just to talk about their accounts or hand over some receipts they forgot to send. We’ve grown accustomed to the rhythm of the street outside and the sound of the trams. It’s a bit dusty, especially in the summer, but we’ve got our fans going and everyone stays focused on the balance sheets. Being in a place like Shyambazar means you’re right in the middle of everything. It’s not a polished environment, just a real office where we work through the numbers day after day without too much fuss or ceremony.
