We deal with various kinds of pulses and grains, so our warehouse is usually full of big jute bags. The air smells like earth and dried beans most of the time. It’s a family-run kind of thing, even if it says private limited on the sign. We have laborers coming in and out all day, carrying heavy loads on their shoulders. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we know. The office is just a small room with an old wooden table and a couple of chairs. We don't have any air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that clicks while it spins. Sometimes the traffic on Chanditala Branch Road is so bad that the trucks can't even get to the door. We just have to wait and drink some chai until things clear up. We don't have a website or do any social media. If people want to buy from us, they usually just show up or call the landline. We’ve been here for years, and we know the other shopkeepers on the block. It’s a busy, noisy, and dusty place, but it’s where we do our business every single day. We don't ask for much, just a steady flow of work.
