Our office is located at 24 L Mahesh Dutta Lane in Kolkata. It is one of those narrow lanes that you might miss if you are not looking closely for it. Being in the 700027 area, we are surrounded by a lot of history and old buildings. We work with the Chartered Accountants group here. Most of our time is spent looking at audits and tax papers. It is a lot of paper, to be honest. We have got shelves full of files that have been there for ages. The fans hum overhead while we go through the books. Kolkata has a certain way of doing things, and we fit right into that rhythm. We are not trying to be modern or high-tech. We use what works and we stick to the rules. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy and we have to make sure the windows are shut tight so the documents do not get damp. We know the local chai wallah by name and he knows how we like our tea. It is a very local feel here. We are not a big, cold institution; we are just people doing accounting work in a quiet part of the city. We do not have a lot of bells and whistles. We just provide a space for the accounting community to get together and handle their business. It is a steady job and we have been doing it this way for a long time now. We just keep going.
