You can find us at 6, Little Russell Street. It is a relatively quiet area, which makes it easier to focus on the work we do at Industrial & Export Services. We do not have a factory or a shop floor here; it is mostly an office where we handle the logistics of moving goods around. There are stacks of folders on every desk and the sound of typing fills the room for most of the day. We spend a lot of time talking to people at the port and checking on shipping schedules. It is a lot of small details that have to be managed, or else everything gets delayed. We are a small team and we have worked in this same room for a long time. The floorboards creak when you walk toward the back where we keep the old records. We do not have any big posters or promotional displays on the walls. It is just a practical space for doing business. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break, but mostly we are busy with the telephones. We have seen the export business change a lot with all the new rules, but the basic work of getting things from one place to another stays the same. We just keep our heads down and make sure the paperwork is done correctly so nobody has any trouble later on.
