Indian Leather

We’re located over at 120, Vepery High Road in the Periamet area. If you know this part of town, you know it’s famous for leather. The smell of tanned hides is just part of the air here. We’ve been in this building for a long time, and it shows in the worn floors and the stacks of samples everywhere. Our day usually starts early before the heat really kicks in. We spend a lot of time looking at different grades of leather and deciding what goes where. It’s a lot of manual work, moving rolls around and checking for marks. There’s no fancy software doing the job for us, just our eyes and hands. The staff here has been around forever. We talk more about the local news than business most mornings. It’s a local way of doing things. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. It’s more of a working warehouse where things actually happen. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific and we have to dig through the back to find it. We don't mind. It’s just how we operate. Periamet can be a bit chaotic with the narrow roads and the trucks, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. This is where the trade is, and this is where we stay. We just handle the hides and try to keep our customers satisfied by being honest about what we have in stock at any given time.
