Impex World Kolkata is at No. 77 Netaji Subash Road, in Room No. 203 on the second floor. Netaji Subash Road is always a bit of a whirlwind with people and vehicles everywhere, so being up in Room 203 gives us a little bit of distance from the street noise, though you can still hear the horns. The building is one of those classic ones that has been around forever. You walk up the stairs—which can be a bit dark—and find us down the hallway. The office itself is small. We have just enough room for the desks and a couple of chairs for visitors. It’s not a place with a view, but we are too busy to look out the window much anyway. We deal with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. Everything is a bit old-fashioned here, from the way we file things to the heavy wooden desks. We like it that way because it feels solid. We don’t bother with fancy tech if the old stuff still works fine. Most days are just about keeping up with the flow of trade. It is a simple life at No. 77. We are just a few people working in a room on the second floor, doing what we know how to do. We usually finish up when the shops downstairs start closing.
