We spend our days here at 8/1G, Roy Para Bye Lane. It is a quiet spot in the Sinthi area of Kolkata. Most people know us for the books and journals we put out, but behind the scenes, it's just a bunch of us working through piles of manuscripts and proofreading late into the evening. The lane gets a bit crowded sometimes, especially when the delivery trucks come by to pick up the latest prints. We have been in this part of North Kolkata for a while now. The building isn't anything fancy, just a practical place where the work gets done. It gets quite hot in the summers, so we keep the fans running and try to stay on top of the schedule. We handle the university publishing side of things, making sure the academic materials are ready. There is always a lot of tea going around the office to keep us moving. Sometimes the printing process takes longer than we'd like, but that is just how it goes. People stop by to ask about certain titles, and we do our best to find what they need in the storeroom. It's not a flashy corporate setup. We just focus on getting the information onto paper and out to the readers who need it for their studies. Being tucked away in a bye lane means we don't get much noise from the main road, which helps when you need to concentrate on a difficult text.
