We are based at 64 M.N. Road in Kolkata, which is in the 36 area. If you know the neighborhood, you know it can get pretty loud and crowded with all the traffic passing by. Our building is right there on the main road, making it easy to find but sometimes hard to park near. Inside, things are a lot more focused. We handle the fashion side of things from this office. It is mostly desks, some computers, and racks of clothes waiting to be checked. The walls are a bit plain and we have some old files stacked in the corners. It is the kind of place where work comes first and decorating comes last. We have people coming in and out all day, some for meetings and others just to drop off materials. The ceiling fans stay on high most of the year to keep the Kolkata humidity at bay. We have a small kettle for making chai, which is pretty much the fuel for everyone working here. It is a typical local setup where everyone knows their job. We don’t spend much time on fancy presentations. Instead, we spend our hours looking at garment samples and checking the details on the latest orders. It’s a busy life here on M.N. Road, and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the city outside while we stay busy inside.
