Our place is right in Shovabazar, at 36 M. D. Road. If you know the area, you know it’s always crowded and moving. We take up the first and second floors of the second building in the complex. Having two floors is helpful because we can separate the actual making of things from the storage and desk work. Hind Spectrum Manufacturer Pvt Ltd has been based here for a bit. It’s an older spot, so the walls have seen a lot of traffic over the years. Getting everything up the stairs to the second floor is usually the hardest part of the morning. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just the tools and the materials we need. It gets loud sometimes because the street noise comes right through the windows, but you get used to it after a week or two. Most of the staff live nearby, so we’re a local bunch. We spend a lot of time checking the machines and making sure everything is aligned properly. It’s a busy environment and the floors are often dusty from the work, but that’s just part of the job. We don’t use any big fancy slogans. We just unlock the doors at the same time every morning and stay until the work is finished. It’s a practical setup for what we do. There isn't any big hierarchy here, just people doing their jobs.
