Darjeeling Impex Ltd. is situated in Hmp House at 4 Fairlie Place. This is one of those classic business buildings in a well-known part of the city. We’ve been based here for a while, and the place has a certain character that you don’t find in modern offices. It’s not all sleek lines and minimalism; it’s more about heavy desks and shelves filled with old records. We spend our time managing imports and exports, which keeps us pretty busy from Monday to Friday. Fairlie Place is always full of people, and there’s a real sense of history in the air around here. We don’t really do the whole corporate branding thing. We’re just a group of workers who know the trade inside and out. Our daily routine involves a lot of checking lists and making sure the transport is lined up. Sometimes things go wrong, like a truck being late or a form getting stuck at customs, and we have to fix it. We don't pretend to be perfect, but we do try to stay on top of things. The office at Hmp House is where all the planning happens. It’s a bit cluttered and we could probably use some more space, but it’s where we’ve built the company.
