Our place is over at 1/1/1A, Nepal Bhattacharya Street. It’s a bit of a maze to get here if you don’t know the area. We have a small facility where we do all the plastic molding. There’s always the hum of the machines in the background, which is something you just get used to after a while. The floor is concrete and has a few cracks here and there. We have stacks of metal molds leaning against the walls and bags of raw plastic pellets piled up in the corner. It’s a very functional space. We don’t have any fancy decorations or a nice lobby. Usually, the air feels a bit warm because of the heaters we use for the molding process. There are about six of us who handle the production and the packing. We spend a lot of time checking the shapes to make sure they came out right. If something is slightly off, we have to start over. It’s a lot of standing on your feet and moving heavy parts around. We take our breaks sitting on some of the crates out back. The street outside is narrow, so when a delivery truck comes, it blocks everything up for a bit. We just do our work, fix the machines when they get stuck, and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s honest, gritty work that keeps us busy from morning till night.
