G.P. Agarwal & Co. (Ca Firm)

We are based at 2/34 Ashok Nagar, Kolkata-700040. G.P. Agarwal & Co. is a small CA firm and we’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time. The office is basically just a few rooms filled with books on tax law and a lot of paper. Electronic filing has changed things a lot, but we still seem to have piles of physical documents everywhere. It’s just the way it goes. Our day starts early, usually with a lot of emails to catch up on. We help people figure out their income tax and how to keep their business records straight. It’s not the most exciting work for everyone, but we find it interesting to see how different businesses operate. Some days are slow and we just sit and check figures, and other days it feels like everyone needs something at the exact same moment. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them we were here. We just try to be honest about what can and can’t be done according to the current regulations. The Ashok Nagar area is a good place to work, and we’ve become part of the furniture here over the years. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It involves a lot of patience and checking things twice just to be sure. There is always something new to learn.
