Golden Clothes

Our place is at 14 S.S Sogg Street in Kolkata. We are shop number 14, right opposite where the old Chaplin Cinema used to be. That area has changed quite a bit over the years, but we are still here doing our thing. Golden Clothes is a small shop, but we try to keep a good amount of items for people to browse through. It’s a bit of an older building, so it has its quirks, like the way the door sticks sometimes or the shadows in the back corners. We spend a lot of our time just organizing the racks. When you have as much stuff as we do in a small space, you have to keep on top of it or everything becomes a mess. We usually have the radio playing quietly in the background while we wait for customers. It isn’t the fanciest street in the city, but it’s ours and we know the people around here. Many folks stop by just because they are heading towards the market or the metro. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just open the shutters every morning and see what the day brings. Sometimes it is very quiet and we just sit and talk, and other times we are so busy we can't even find a moment to drink our tea. That is just how shop life goes for us.
