Glaze Engineering

Glaze Engineering is tucked away at 322/5 Joy Mitra Street. It's one of those narrow streets where everyone knows each other and the shops are packed tight. We’ve been running this engineering shop for a good stretch now. It’s mostly metalwork and fixing things that people bring in. The workshop is usually a bit of a mess with scraps and tools lying around, but we know where everything is. We don’t really do big advertising; most people just hear about us from their neighbors or other shops nearby. We work on a lot of different projects, some small and some that take up the whole floor for a week. The noise can get pretty loud when the grinders are going, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. It’s not a corporate environment at all. We wear work clothes and get our hands dirty every single day. If the weather is hot, it gets pretty stuffy inside, so we keep the doors wide open to catch whatever breeze we can. We focus on getting the job done so the customer can take their parts home. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we enjoy the challenge of a difficult repair. Sometimes we stay late to finish something up, but that’s just how it goes in a place like this. We usually have a bit of music playing in the background to keep our spirits up while we work on the tough jobs.
