Our office is located at 35 Belgachia Road in Kolkata, right where all the noise and energy of the city is. If you know West Bengal, you know how busy these streets get, especially during the festive seasons. We’ve been operating out of this building for a long time, and the walls probably have stories to tell. It’s not one of those glass skyscrapers you see in the newer parts of town. Instead, it’s a solid old place with high ceilings and fans that hum all day long. We start early because the traffic on Belgachia Road gets difficult if you wait too long. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how each other likes their coffee or tea. We handle a lot of different things throughout the day, mostly involving paperwork and talking to people who drop in. There’s a lot of paper around, stacked on wooden desks that have seen better days. We don't really have a marketing team or anyone to make things look polished. We just focus on what’s in front of us and try to stay on top of the schedule. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, but we just wait it out and chat until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of working, I suppose. We’re just a group of people trying to do a decent job in a city that never really stops moving.
