Down at 400 G. T. Road South, in unit F-101, is where Prosperity Exim Pvt. Ltd. is based. If you've ever been on GT Road, you know it's a heavy-duty kind of place. There are trucks everywhere and the air always smells like diesel and dust from the traffic. Our office is right in the middle of all that industrial energy. We work on the export and import side of things, so being near the main transport routes is actually quite helpful for us. The office itself is pretty basic. We have some sturdy desks, a few chairs for visitors, and a big map of the world pinned to the wall with some old tea stains on it. It’s a noisy environment, but we’ve grown to like the rhythm of it over time. We spend our hours filling out forms and talking to the drivers. It’s a lot of practical work that needs to be done correctly. We don't really have "meetings" in the formal sense; we just talk over the desks when something needs to be decided quickly. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which gives us a few minutes to step outside and stretch our legs. It’s a tough area to work in sometimes, but the people around here are hard-working and honest folks. We just keep our heads down and get the day's tasks finished so we can get home to our families.
