Eskillport is based out of Baruipur, down on Brick Feild Road. Our building is known as Dolly Dev Subudhipur. It’s a bit of a trek from the main center of Kolkata, but we like being out here. The area has a lot of history with the old brick fields nearby, though things are changing now. We work on HR stuff, which mostly means we spend our days looking at resumes and talking to people about jobs. It’s a lot of paperwork and even more phone calls. We aren't one of those high-rise agencies with suits and ties. Most of us just wear what’s comfortable and focus on getting people placed where they need to be. The office gets a bit humid in the summer, but we have some fans that keep the air moving. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the neighbors know us well. Sometimes people just walk in off the street asking if we have any openings they might fit into. We try to help everyone who comes through the door, though it’s not always possible to find a match right away. Dealing with human resources means you meet all kinds of characters, which keeps the day interesting. We don’t use any fancy software that promises to do the work for us; we just read the files and talk to the candidates ourselves. It’s a lot of work, but it feels right doing it this way in our corner of Baruipur.
