About Ecoheritage India Foundation – Exim Trade in Kolkata
Ecoheritage India Foundation is located over at 650 Rabindra Sarani in Baghbazar. We are in Flat 3A of the Gangotri Residency. Baghbazar is such an old and historic part of Kolkata, so it feels right to have our foundation based here. The building is called Gangotri Residency and it’s a fairly easy place to find if you know the Rabindra Sarani area. We work from the third floor. Our daily routine involves a lot of planning and talking about heritage-related projects. It’s not like a high-pressure sales office. It’s a bit more thoughtful and slow-paced, though we still have plenty of work to do. The office has a few bookshelves filled with old records and some project files. You can see the old houses of Baghbazar from our window, which is quite nice during the monsoon. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist. Usually, one of us just answers the door if someone knocks. We spend a lot of time on research and coordinating with different people. Sometimes we have small meetings around the main table in the living room area of the flat. It feels more like a home than a workplace sometimes. We just care about the work we are doing in the foundation and this space gives us what we need to get it done. It’s a quiet, practical spot in a very traditional part of town.
