Dutta Exports

We’ve been here at 28, Dum Dum Road for quite a while now. Most days start early before the traffic on the main road really gets going. It’s a busy spot, and sometimes the noise from the trucks outside makes it hard to hear, but we’re used to it. The office is just a couple of rooms and a small storage area where we keep the export stock ready to go. We handle a lot of paperwork and boxes every single day. My cousin helps out with the shipping labels while I try to keep the inventory straight on the shelves. It’s not a fancy setup by any means. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high. Usually, there’s a pile of packing tape and cardboard sitting near the door. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking where the containers are or why a delivery is running late. People stop by sometimes just to drop off a package or ask directions. It’s mostly just us working through the lists and making sure everything is boxed up tight. Lunch is usually something quick from the shop around the corner. By the time evening comes around, the place is a bit of a mess with scraps of paper everywhere. We just lock up, go home, and do it all again the next morning. It’s a steady kind of life here.
