Deoki Hosiery Factory

We have been working out of this spot in Titagarh for a long time now. If you walk down S.J.M. Old Line No.14, you will eventually find us at Room No.51. It is not some fancy corporate office with a big glass front. It is just a hosiery factory where we spend most of our daylight hours. The machines make a lot of noise throughout the day and it gets pretty warm during the Kolkata summers, but that is just how it goes here. We deal with yarns and knitting every single day. The 24 Parganas area is always busy with people moving bundles of fabric around the corridors. We do not have any big signs or a lobby for visitors to sit in. People usually just find us by asking the neighbors where the hosiery shop is. Most of the guys working here have been around for years, so we all know each other well. It is a simple setup with stacks of finished goods waiting to be moved and bits of thread always catching on your clothes. We drink a lot of tea while we keep an eye on the production. It is not a glamorous life, but it is our work. The building is old and the stairs are narrow, but it fits what we need. When the power goes out, we just take a break and sit outside until things start running again. That is just life at Deoki Hosiery Factory.
