Our office is tucked away in Room 749 at 33/1 N.S. Road. It is one of those massive, older buildings where you can easily find yourself wandering the wrong hallway if you don't pay attention to the room numbers. The corridor is long and has that specific smell of old paper and stone. Inside our room, it’s a bit cramped because we have boxes of files and various samples stacked along the walls. Being in the impex business means there is always a mountain of documents to go through. The ceiling fans can be a bit noisy when they are on high, but they are necessary for keeping the air from getting too stale in the afternoons. We spend most of the day either on the phone or squinting at the ledgers. N.S. Road is famous for being packed, so getting here in the morning usually involves a bit of a fight with the traffic and the crowds. We’ve occupied this specific room for a long time now. It has a single window that looks out over the gray rooftops of the surrounding buildings. We try to keep the main desk organized, but by the middle of the week, it’s usually covered in notes and tea mugs. It’s a very simple setup without a fancy reception or any of that polished corporate look. People who have business with us just walk right in. We handle all the small details of importing and exporting from this one space. It’s just our daily routine of talking about orders and tracking shipments.
