We are over here in Jodhpur Park, right on the ground floor at Flat G1. It is a busy little spot in Kolkata. We mostly spend our days dealing with food and various drinks. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen during the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. Some days are quieter than others when the rain starts coming down hard on the street outside. We started this because we wanted something of our own in this neighborhood. There is a lot of traffic nearby, so there is always noise from the cars and people walking by the windows. We handle everything ourselves, from checking the stock to making sure the floor is swept at the end of the day. It is not a very big space, but it fits what we need for now. We mostly focus on getting the orders right and making sure the supplies arrive on time from the local markets. Sometimes the electricity acts up, which is just how things go around here. We know the neighbors pretty well since we are on the ground floor. It feels like a normal part of the community. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a kitchen and a place to work. We’ve had this place for a few years now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time between all the chores. Sometimes we just sit on the steps for a minute to breathe and watch the city move.
