Chaitali Banerjee

I am Chaitali Banerjee and I operate out of 26, Nazir Bagan in the Dhakuria area of Kolkata. It’s tucked away in a little lane that can be hard to find if you aren’t looking closely. The pin code is 700078. This place is really just a part of the house that I turned into a working space. It’s got that old-school South Kolkata feel to it. There’s a big tree right outside the gate that keeps the room somewhat cool during the summer. I’ve lived around here most of my life, so I know all the neighbors. Sometimes they stop by just to say hello or ask how things are going. It’s not a fancy setup at all. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desk is an old wooden one that’s been in my family for years. I have a computer and a printer, and that’s about it for equipment. I handle everything myself mostly, though sometimes a friend helps out with the extra bits. It’s a quiet way to work. I don’t like the noise of the main road, so being back here in Nazir Bagan is perfect. I drink a lot of tea while I work and sometimes forget to take a lunch break. It’s just a normal, small-scale operation. I don’t have any big plans to move to a shiny office. I like it right here where I can hear the birds and the street.
