Canvas Consultants

Canvas Consultants operates out of Purbasha Apartment in Baruipur. We are up in Flat 4F. Kolkata - 144 is our general area. It’s quite a bit away from the main hubbub of central Kolkata, which is actually a relief most days. The apartment building is just a regular residential place. We use one of the flats as our main workspace. It’s got a kitchen where we make tea and a small balcony where we sometimes take breaks. There are about four or five of us usually in the office at any given time. We don't have a big sign outside, so you really have to know which flat to ring. The neighbors are mostly families, so we try to keep the noise down. We have desks squeezed into the rooms, and there are files everywhere. It’s not perfectly organized, but we know where everything is. We don't spend money on fancy marketing or expensive office gear. Most of our furniture is second-hand or just stuff we brought from home. We’ve been working from this flat for a while now. It’s a quiet life in Baruipur. We take the local train sometimes, or just ride our bikes in. It’s a practical way to run things without the high costs of a city office. We just focus on our projects and try to stay on top of the work without making things too complicated for ourselves. That’s about all there is to it.
