Being on AJC Bose Road means there is never a quiet moment. The traffic outside is constant, with horns blaring and buses rushing past. Our office at number 1 is just a functional space for the trading we do. We don’t have plush carpets or expensive art on the walls. It’s mostly desks, filing cabinets, and the sound of telephones ringing. Camex Trade-Link is run by people who have been in this industry for a long time, so we don't feel the need to use big words or pretend to be more than we are. We deal with the day-to-day logistics of moving goods. It involves a lot of paperwork and phone calls to suppliers and transporters. The office can get a bit cluttered with folders and ledgers, but we know where everything is. We don't have a marketing department to write catchy slogans for us. We just handle the trades. The tea stall downstairs is where we usually end up during breaks, talking about the day’s work or the weather. It’s a very straightforward way of working. No one here wears a suit unless they absolutely have to for a meeting. We just want to make sure the shipments are moving and the numbers add up at the end of the month. It’s a grit-and-grind kind of job, and we’re used to the pace by now. It’s just how business is done in this part of town.
