C S Tiwari & Co is located at 15/1 in the Custom Clearing Hall on Strand Road, right near the Calcutta GPO. This is a very old and busy part of the city, especially with all the shipping and trade activity coming from the port nearby. Our office is right in the middle of it all. It’s a place filled with stacks of files, registers, and the constant sound of stamps being pressed onto documents. We spend most of our time dealing with paperwork, checking regulations, and making sure all the forms are filled out correctly for goods coming in and going out. It can be a bit overwhelming with the amount of bureaucracy involved, but that’s just the nature of customs work. The building itself has a lot of history, with high ceilings and old wooden desks that have been used for decades. There’s always a lot of people coming in and out, asking questions or dropping off more papers for us to look at. We don't have much in the way of modern decor; it’s just a functional space meant for getting work done. The heat can get pretty intense during the summer months, and the ceiling fans don't always do much to help, but we've been here long enough that we don't notice it much anymore. We just keep track of the shipments and try to stay on top of the ever-changing rules of the port area.
