Best Crompton Engineering Ltd. is up on the second floor of the building at P3 Suhrawardy Avenue. We share the space with Beacon Weir Limited. It’s an older building, so the lift can be a bit slow sometimes, and most of us just end up taking the stairs if we aren't carrying anything heavy. Being on the second floor is okay because we get a bit of a view of the avenue, though it’s mostly just watching the cars go by. The office is full of engineering stuff—diagrams, some old parts sitting on the shelves, and plenty of technical books that have been there for years. It smells a bit like old paper and machine oil sometimes. We aren’t the type to have a fancy reception area or a coffee machine that does anything special. Usually, we just make a pot of tea or send someone down to the street to get some. We spend our hours looking over designs or talking about projects that are currently under way. It’s a lot of technical talk and checking numbers over and over to make sure nothing was missed. It can be a bit dry for some people, but it’s what we do. The team is small and everyone has their own way of doing things, which sometimes leads to small arguments about where a file was left, but we get it sorted eventually. It is a functional place where we just focus on the engineering tasks.
