Assorted Engineers

Down in East Balia, things can get pretty muddy during the monsoon season. Assorted Engineers is located right in that area, near the Munimala Apartment block in Sonarpur. It is a quiet part of the district compared to the center of the city. We have a small setup where we handle all sorts of engineering tasks. The name "Assorted" actually fits us well because we never know what kind of job is going to walk through the door next. One day it might be a small welding task and the next we are trying to figure out a mechanical issue for a local factory owner. The shop is a bit cluttered with scraps and old blueprints rolled up in the corners. We aren't really into the whole professional office look. We prefer being on the floor with our tools. The walk from the Garia post office isn't too long if you are coming by foot on a nice day. We have a couple of dogs that hang around the entrance and sleep in the shade while we work. It’s a peaceful way to earn a living, even if the machines are loud and the floor is greasy. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get it right. It’s been our life for years now. We know most of our neighbors and they know we are here if something breaks.
