Bansal Cylinders & Tubes Limited

Our facility is at 37 Vidyasagar Road in the Bediapara area of Dum Dum. If you’ve ever been to this part of Kolkata, you know how crowded the streets can get. We’re right there among the local houses and other small workshops. We spend our days working with cylinders and tubes, so there’s always the sound of metal clanging or machines running. It’s a noisy environment, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The building is an older one and we’ve had to make do with the space we have. We don't have any flashy showrooms; it’s mostly just the production floor and a small area for the clerical work. We handle a lot of heavy stuff, so there’s a lot of sweat involved, especially in the humid months. Sometimes the delivery vans have a hard time getting through the narrow parts of Vidyasagar Road, but we manage. Most of the people working here live nearby and walk to work. We take our tea breaks together and talk about the news or the local football matches. It’s a very grounded way of working. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just making sure the tubes and cylinders are made right and sent out to the customers who need them. It’s honest work and we’ve been doing it at this same spot for quite a while now. We keep the machines oiled and the floors as clear as possible.
