A.K.Engineers

If you walk down 20 Avenue First Road in Santoshpur, you’ll find our little engineering spot. It’s a busy area of Kolkata, always full of people and rickshaws going by. A.K.Engineers has been operating out of this building for years. The office is a bit cramped because we have so many files and old drawings piled up everywhere. We aren’t really into the whole modern office look. Our desks are cluttered with rulers, pens, and stacks of paper that we need for our daily projects. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get it done. It’s a noisy place because of the street traffic, but you get used to it after a week or two. We mostly focus on the technical side of things, making sure the math is right and the plans are solid. It’s honest work that requires a lot of sitting and thinking. Most of the staff has been here a long time, so we’re more like a group of friends than corporate colleagues. We don’t have any fancy meetings with slideshows. We just sit around a table and figure out how to solve whatever problem landed on our desks that morning. Santoshpur is a good place to be, even if the parking is a nightmare. We just keep our heads down and do the engineering work that needs doing. That is the way we have always done things here.
