B N Engineering Works

B N Engineering Works is situated right at 131 Amherst Street, near the corner of Keshab Chandra Sen Street and Raja Ram Mohan Roy Sarani. It’s a very old part of the city, and the streets are always crowded with people and rickshaws. Our workshop is tucked into this busy area, and we’ve been here for quite a long time. It’s a small space, so we have to be very organized with our tools and machines. There isn't much room for error or for clutter. We do all sorts of general engineering work, mostly small parts and repairs that people bring in. The walls are stained with years of oil and smoke, but that’s just how an engineering shop looks. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a small one over the door. Most days we are just busy with the lathes or the drill press. It’s noisy because of the traffic outside and the work inside, but we are used to it by now. We usually have a tea break in the afternoon, standing out on the sidewalk for a few minutes of fresh air. It’s a simple business. We don't have a website or do any big marketing. People know us because we’ve been on this street for years and they trust us to handle their repairs. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do.
