Avinash International

Our place is at 15C Bhabanath Sen Street. It’s a narrow street, but it’s home for us. Avinash International has been running out of this building for a good number of years. It’s a traditional setup. We don't have a big glass front or anything like that. You just walk in and you'll see a couple of us working at our desks. There’s usually some papers piled up and a calendar on the wall with too many notes on it. We deal with international trade, so there’s a lot of coordinating with people in different time zones. Sometimes the phone rings at odd hours, but we are used to it by now. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part, which helps when we need to focus on the shipping details. We aren't interested in being the biggest or the loudest company. We just want to make sure the orders are correct and the goods arrive on time. It’s a lot of back-and-forth communication. We drink a lot of coffee and talk about the weather while we wait for shipments to clear. It’s just a regular small business vibe. We know our neighbors and they know us. We’ve stayed at this address because it works for us and we like the familiarity of the street. It’s simple and honest work. Sometimes the delivery vans block the street for a bit, but everyone around here is patient about it. We just keep the files moving and stay busy.
