Asmita Apparels

Our workshop is located at 194/3/1 East Kodallia, right in the New-Barrackpur area of Kolkata. If you are looking for Bibhas Chakraborty, this is the place. It’s a local neighborhood where everyone kind of knows each other, and we like it that way. At Asmita Apparels, things are pretty straightforward. We have our machines, our fabric, and a small team of people who know how to use them. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but inside we are always busy. There is usually the sound of sewing machines running in the background and people talking over the noise. We don't have a fancy reception area or a marketing department. We just have our workbenches and the clothes we are making. Sometimes the heat in Kolkata gets a bit much, especially in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. It’s the kind of place where you might see a cat sleeping in the corner or someone sharing their lunch at a desk. We don't try to polish things up for visitors because this is just a real place where people work. We’ve been in this part of town for a while, and the routine of the P.O. New-Barrackpur area feels very familiar to all of us now. There is always a pile of thread on the floor and a pot of tea being shared somewhere around the room.
