Asha Engineering Works

Our small workshop is located at 30/2 on Panchanantala Road in Belghoria. You can find us right near the Panchanantala Mandir. It is a busy little street with people walking by all the time. We do mostly engineering jobs, like fixing iron grills or making small metal parts that people need for their homes. It is a bit cramped inside with all the lathes and the welding equipment taking up most of the space. My brother and I run the place with one helper who has been with us for five years. We usually have a radio playing in the corner to drown out some of the grinding noise. Sometimes people bring in old rusted gates that need a lot of work to look okay again. We don't promise things will look brand new, but we make sure they are strong and do the job right. The floor is always covered in iron scraps and dust, no matter how much we sweep. Working near the temple is nice because we get to hear the evening prayers while we finish up our last few tasks. We get our steel from a supplier nearby, and sometimes they are late, which pushes our work back a bit. We just tell customers the truth about how long it will take. It’s an honest way to make a living and the neighbors seem to appreciate having us close by.
