Ankit Impex is located at 8, Tarachand Dutta Street. This street is right in the heart of a very busy part of Kolkata. If you’ve ever walked through here, you know it’s a maze of shops, carts, and people moving everywhere. Our office at number 8 is where we manage all the import and export work. It’s not a very big place, just a few desks and a lot of paper everywhere. In this business, there is always a lot of paperwork to deal with, from customs forms to shipping manifests. We spend a lot of our time on the phone trying to track where things are or talking to the port authorities. It can be quite a headache when things get stuck, but that is just part of the job. We have been at this address for a long time now. Most of the people on the street know us. We don’t have any fancy corporate offices or a big team of sales people. It is just us doing the work and making sure the goods get to where they need to go. We like the energy of the market, even if it is a bit loud sometimes. On most afternoons, we just sit here with the fan on, drinking tea and working through the files. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. We are just a local trading firm trying to do a decent job every day.
