You can find our office at 265, Rabindra Sarani in the middle of a very busy part of Kolkata. It is one of those old buildings where the walls are thick but you can still hear the trams and the shouting from the street markets outside. This part of the city never really sleeps, so there is always something going on right outside our windows. We have been doing accounting work here for a long time, helping local shop owners and bigger businesses with their taxes and audits. Our desks are usually covered in folders and loose papers that we are trying to organize into some kind of order. It isn't a fancy place with modern glass walls or anything like that. We have old wooden cupboards filled with files dating back years. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty, but that’s just how these old Kolkata buildings are. We spend most of our day sitting under the ceiling fans, checking figures and making sure everything matches up for the government filings. People drop by without calling first sometimes, and we just pull up a chair for them to talk. It’s a bit of a maze to get to us, but once you are inside, it’s just a group of people working hard. We don't use a lot of complicated jargon when we talk to folks. We just explain what needs doing and get to it. It is a bit hectic, but we like being right in the heart of the 700 007 district.
